Meisner Intensive Course with Skye Hallam
In this course you will be going through all of the core elements of Meisner’s repetition exercise; from breaking down how it works, to why actors use it and how to apply this technique to scenes, monologues and personal character prep work, so you feel confident to go into the industry and make the most out of it.
This is a practical course, where you will learn through practising and honing different exercises.
Skye’s practice focuses on two main aims: for her students to gain huge confidence and independence in Meisner’s work and crucially, a full understanding of how and where to apply it.
Course dynamic:
-
PART 1: Focus on the core fundamentals of Meisner's repetition exercise; establishing the basics and making sure participants are aware of how the technique breaks down and what our learning objectives are from the start.
-
PART 2: Apply the technique to actor prep and add a 'want' into the scene. Character and more complex scenarios for the repetition exercise to exist within.
-
PART 3: Work with a contemporary duologue, which participants will be sent prior to the course. Experience what is like to use the work in real life.
